About New York Film Academy

Over the past 23 years, the New York Film Academy has built a reputation as one of the premier hands-on film and acting schools in the world.

With our innovative hands-on approach to teaching, students find themselves completely immersed in their course of study, surrounded by award-winning faculty and working with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The project-based curriculum is designed to reflect a real-world environment while encouraging students to explore their own creativity and passions.

A wide array of course offerings are available, including our hands-on intensive Filmmaking, Acting for Film, Screenwriting, Producing and Directing programs as well as short-term and evening workshops.

New York Film Academy Australia is a Registered Training Organisation, delivering nationally accredited training in the area of the Arts and aligning its' programs to the hugely successful New York Film Academy in New York and Los Angeles.

Students will have the opportunity to work and train with seasoned professionals from both the local and international film industry. New York Film Academy Australia offers Certificate III through to Advanced Diploma level programs. Students have the opportunity to continue their study towards an American BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) at our Los Angeles campus, or articulate to higher-level study with Queensland University of Technology.

Sydney Campus
Australia's largest and most famous city, Sydney is home to beautiful beaches, iconic buildings, historic landmarks, award-winning restaurants, and a uniquely vibrant culture. Sydney served as the location for numerous blockbusters such as The Great Gatsby, The Matrix Trilogy, Stealth, Babe, Australia, The Wolverine, Superman Returns, Mission Impossible II and Star Wars: Episodes II & III.

Gold Coast Campus
The Gold Coast is located only 80 km from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, where it is flanked by sunny golden beaches through to iconic rainforests, the hub of Australia's theme parks and a well loved tourist destination, from both local and international visitors alike. In 2012, New York Film Academy opened its' campus on the backlot of Village Roadshow Studios adjacent to Warner Bros Movie World. Village Roadshow Studios have been locations for Scooby Doo, House of Wax, Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Daybreakers, Fool’s Gold, Peter Pan, Terranova (TV Series), Unbroken and San Andreas.
