David Jaanz is the leading contemporary singing coach in Australia. It is his unique approach, Emotion Centred Singing that is the power method 'creating the stars of tomorrow', today.
“Where ‘the singer’ evolves into ‘the artist’ like a Picasso or Michelangelo except in the musical arena. This is the power of Emotion Centred Singing.”
“Emotion Centred Singing is a phenomenon that works to creates stars, and will continue to create stars. We will keep doing it year after year."
For David, it all started in 1989 under the guidance of renowned manager, Ralph Carr with his band ‘JANZ’ winning the world Yamaha band competition in Japan beating over 22,000 bands from around the world and 55,000 original songs. Consequently he was signed to Sony music and released singles ‘Crime’ and ‘Picture’.
National Television and thousands of live performances in various clubs and hotels were a regular occurrence for David, including a residency at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne for over a decade.
In 1992 David performed at the Rugby League Grand final in Sydney for UNICEF in front of 55,000 people and a TV audience in the millions. He also performed to an estimated TV audience of 2 billion viewers in China at the Beijing International Festival in 1998. He was the support act for Womack and Womack, Patti Labelle and has performed with international superstars such as George Benson and Stevie Wonder.
In 1996 he was invited to New York and presented to all the major record labels by superstar George Benson .The highlight was an impromptu backstage performance of the jazz classic ‘My Funny Valentine’ at the Martin Luther King Benefit Concert.
In 2002 David co-founded record company ‘Marlin Records’ with partner Marlon Goonawardana which consequently signed student and now global superstar, Daniel Merriweather and international record producer, Jarrod Rogers. David left the label two years later to focus purely on coaching and other projects, including the release of his first gospel album ‘My Child.’
David Jaanz is a pioneer and innovator in the field of talent development and is a consultant for record companies and management houses globally.
